Our First Quartzsite RV Show & A Fun Announcement

Thanks for taking the time to read about our adventures.  We are so thankful to each and every one of you!

This week we have been experiencing a lot of what Quartzsite has to offer….. mainly ROCKS.  I never knew there were so many different types of rocks.  Obviously, I’ve been living under a rock not to know this.   There are so many vendors here that are selling rocks, rocks and more rocks.  I’m not talking about the crystals and gems.  I’m talking about rocks.  They are sold by the pound, which I’m sure those of you that collect rocks or use them in your yards, etc., are aware of that bit of information.  I’m not saying I haven’t used rocks in our landscaping for our different homes.  I’ve just never seen so many types.  I find it very fascinating.  So, if you love rocks, this is the place to be.

The RV show has been very fun.  Many manufacturers are here showing the newest rigs and the different floor plans and styles.  We went inside a few and are planning on going back to see more.  So far, I’m still loving our RV the best.  I just love how our RV feels more like a home.  When we go back to the show, we are going to look at the motorhomes.  To remind you, we have a 5th wheel, which is towable.  Jerry wants to take a look at the 2022 motorhomes.  I’ve always liked 5th wheels better due to the floor plans.  The rooms are separated which gives more of a homey feel.  But, hey, I’m open to look.  Trust me, we aren’t looking to upgrade for a very long time.  When you read this, we will have been 7 months full timing!  It’ll be a while before that conversation comes up.  Heck, we are just breaking in our rig.

There are a lot of vendors in the BIG TENT, though we have been told there is half the amount that there usually are due to Covid.  But, there are still over 200 vendors!  There are a lot of interesting things out there for RV’s, let me tell you.  Things like LED lighting for inside the cabinets and closets, solar companies, hitches, stabilizing companies and a lot more.  There are also a lot of vendors that really have more to do with the RVer’s rather than the RV’s themselves, such as nail and make-up, jewelry, skincare… You get the idea. Although they are fun to see, we were hoping for more RV related items.

Our favorite vendor is Lectric Ebikes.  We each have one and love them.  We met some new friends, Angie and Ray from Missouri, who were thinking about getting them.  We helped talk them into it after they test drove them at the show, and now, they are hooked.  The customer service is amazing.  They told us to bring our bikes to the show and they would tune them up and check them out.  So, of course, we did.  If you are thinking of an ebike, we highly recommend Lectric!  And, no, we are not affiliates for them (yet).  We just love their bikes and their customer service.

The RV show ends on the 30th.  We will be going back that day just to be sure there is nothing else we cannot live without.  You just never know.  Hey, we’ve been purging!

We have been at Quartzsite for 2 weeks now.  It has been very relaxing, and we are getting a lot done.  We have a few projects we are going to get done while we’re here.  One of them is to replace our faucets in the bathroom.  We have two sinks, and the faucets are horrible. You can see what I’m talking about in the picture.  Not only are there water stains (and yes, we know vinegar will help this) but, trust me, when you wash your hands, water gets everywhere.  Many other RVers who have our model have changed out their faucets as well.   We have the new ones and now I’m waiting for Jerry to do the work.  Hopefully soon!

Once the show is over, we are planning to start doing more sightseeing.  We are heading to Phoenix on the 1st for an overnight stay, leaving the RV and staying in a hotel for the night.  Our truck was hit in San Antonio in a parking lot.  Jerry couldn’t find anyone to fix it in Quartzsite or surrounding areas, so after many calls, he found someone in Phoenix.  Fingers crossed.

The fun part about going to Phoenix is that there are quite a few friends wintering there. We are looking forward to visiting with them! Even more importantly, we are looking forward to going to Costco and grocery shopping. I believe I have mentioned this prior, but there are 2 grocery stores in the area and the shelves are bare!! Thank goodness there is a fruit and vegetable stand every Thursday and Friday just down the street from where we are staying. That has truly saved us.

To wrap up, we have a fun announcement!  We want to celebrate our 1-year full timing with YOU!  June 30th will be our 1-year anniversary of hitting the road in our RV.   We will be in New England (Maine and Vermont) from June 19th – Oct 15th.   The first part will be in Freeport, Maine June 19th – August 1, where LL Bean is located and 15 min from Portland.  Then, in August, we will be in Vermont. I’ll be celebrating my  birthday in Vermont too.  Cannot wait! Then, starting Sept 2 – Oct 15th we will be in Bangor, Maine.   For those of you who have never been to New England and have always wanted to come see the fall foliage or for those of you who love New England and are considering coming back, we would love to see YOU!  We want to do a New England seafood boil party or a few of them!   Hey, let’s celebrate!

Even if you do not RV, each of the campgrounds we are staying in have cabins.  Here is what you need to do.  Let us know you will be coming, and the dates and I will send you the link(s) to the RV parks we are staying in.  Don’t wait too long as it is their high season and they book up quickly. You can either message us on our Facebook Page, or email us at justonemorerv@gmail.com!  We hope to see many of you!  If you don’t like seafood, no problem, we will have other things to enjoy at the celebrations!

Just One More….RV Show (I love them!)

Susan your travels are amazing. Perhaps you should contact Netflix and get a contract as I’m sure many people would find following your adventures a treat. I sure look forward to every post. You and Jerry are living the good life. Save travels.

Always enjoy your postings. Keep it up.

When my sister and I were traveling a few years ago, we went shopping at LL Beam. The store is open 24 hours all year. Shopping at midnight was fun and great customer service, since they were only a few shoppers at that time of the day!
