It has been close to 4 months since you last heard from us! Cannot believe we have been in the Prescott area that long already.
We are getting to know the area and I am finally able to drive to the grocery stores without using GPS. Huge accomplishment!

Let me catch you up. We have completely furnished and landscaped our new home. The only thing we haven’t done is buy art for the walls. We are waiting for all the art shows and festivals that happen in the area during the spring and summer. What we did was use Mixtiles, the online framing company, to start the process of saving our favorite pictures, which are in our hallway as you enter the house. Check out the pic.
We sold Madge (the 5th wheel) very quickly, to a couple from North Dakota that drove to Arizona during a winter storm. Nice people. Madge went to a good home. We traded Hunky (truck) in for a Honda Civic for me and for Jerry, a Ridgeline Truck, which we call Hunky Jr. Key for Keys. I told them when we walked in I did not want to spend a dime. Knowing how much the Ram was worth. They tried a little sales manipulation, but we started to walk out and ended up with two vehicles for one. Overall a great experience.
I hadn’t driven in 18 months. Ok, well, I drove Hunky maybe two times. It was so nice to be behind the wheel and feel independent again. Not having to ask Jerry to drive me to get my nails or hair done, even going grocery shopping by myself. I didn’t realize how much I truly missed my independence. Jerry was a trooper and I wouldn’t have changed anything for the incredible experience we had. You just don’t realize what you miss until it’s gone.
So, what are we up to? I know inquiring minds want to know.

After coming home from whatever I was doing a couple of days in a row, I noticed Jerry was on his recliner watching a lot of golf and pacing in the living room. He was bored!!! When you move into a brand new home, there are no projects to do. Jerry loves projects and can put together or fix anything. Well, there was nothing for him to do. It’s too early for gardening (yes, still!! Not until Mother’s Day we have been warned). I looked at him and said, “You need to go get a job. You’re making me nuts”. So, he applied at 3 different places and was hired at all 3. He chose Ace Hardware. It’s only 10 minutes from the house.
He’s been there for almost 2 months now. He likes the people he’s working with and he loves to help people. He’s working 3 – 4 days a week which is great for both of us! 👍 After almost 40 years working in a hospital, for the same company, this is a whole new world for him. RETAIL!!!
What am I up to? I joined the Prescott Jewish Temple and have met some wonderful people. I immediately was asked to help with their annual gala fundraiser. If you know me, this was right up my alley. I got right to work finding raffle items, silent auction items, and whatever else I could do to help. The Gala happened a couple of weeks ago and turned out to be a huge success. Of course, now, they would like me to continue to help them fundraise. Of course, I will!
I also have started a new business. (did you think I would be just hanging around being a retired person?) We are continuing Just One More but in a totally different format. (although, you never know when a YouTube Video will show up) I am making hand-knit blankets and hats. Yep, you read that correctly. While I was visiting my cousin Susan in the Atlanta area in November, she showed me how to hand-knit blankets and I showed her how to make hats using a round loom. Susan has been selling her blankets for quite a while and now sells the hats. I decided to do the same. The hats are with or without logos from your favorite university or sports team, The blankets you can custom order the size and color!
The business will be online and launching very soon. I’ve done the shows and markets in the past and really don’t see myself doing that anytime soon. But, you can never say never. The cool thing is, I will have a team of family members and friends helping with the business in many aspects. Overall, it should be a lot of fun and will help me keep busy and zen. (knitting is very relaxing)
Please check out some of the things I have made.
We are meeting new friends, getting involved in the community, and loving the weather (even the snow as it melts in 24 hours). Overall, this has been a good move for us. Especially Jerry. He loves having a home and a garden. I told him as long as we do major trips once a year, I will be happy. I do not want to stop traveling just because we do not have an RV. Here we come VRBOs!
You’ll hear from us soon as we continue getting settled in Prescott Valley. Please reach out with any questions or just to say hi!! We’ve missed our Just One More community and look forward to hearing from you!

Wohoo. Good to hear from you. Back to the folks I know and love. I sure wish Jerry worked at our Ace hardware. It’s my favorite place to shop for everything. Congratulations on your new company Susan. I expect to see twirling skirts and full length coats on your list of products soon. 😂. You’re so enterprising I knew you would be getting schpilkus quickly. Enjoy continuing your exploring. ❤️

I love your picture collage in your hallway and your update. I have enjoyed following you and Jerry on your adventures. You guys remind me of Frank Sinatra’s song, “I did it my way” and you did indeed. You are courageous and willing to try something new. You both truly are an inspiration. Keep enjoying the good life. 😊

So great hearing from you. We often wonder as we walk past your old house.
By the way, gal has kept landscaping looking great and has even planted another fruit tree in backyard.
Marty has a new hip and is walking better, and taller too😀. Just little Doolin these days, he still misses his old brother/buddy. How long did your guys grieve after losing their partner?
Enjoy your new life. Will look forward to your next “phase of life” news.

Ned grieved for Jelsie for ever. I don’t think he ever got over her not being around which is why he went downhill so quickly.
Good to hear from you. Glad Marty is walking better and feeling good and I hope you are as well.
