But Wait… There’s More!

I hope everyone had a great week!  Cannot believe it is almost the end of April.  We have officially been living in our new home for 4 months!  I don’t know about you, but doesn’t it seem like the days just fly by???

Many people ask us if we miss the RV lifestyle.  Jerry would say, “hell no”.  Me?  I would say, I miss visiting new places and meeting new people.  What we both do not miss is the travel days and the few days leading up to travel day.  Our best times were when we were in a location for a month or longer.  That gave us the time to really explore the areas and relax as well.

For both of us, the challenges were waiting for the next thing to break or anticipating if we had a blowout or breaking down on the road.  According to Jerry, his job is to take care of me and that means he had to take care of the RV and truck.  So, when things started to break or knowing possibly things could break (reading all the posts on FB about our RV drove us both crazy that we had to stop looking at FB) That truly stressed us both out quite a bit.

We followed so many RVers on YouTube that had these experiences but realized that many of the couples were much younger than we were.   Also, their attitudes were, “Oh well, that’s part of RV living”.  As I have said in the past, for those of you who know me, I do not have a laid-back personality.  I try really hard, but it’s just not in my nature to just go with the flow when plans I have painstakingly worked on do not go right.

I learned early on in our adventure, (after many complete emotional breakdowns) I might not have the personality for this lifestyle. (Ya Think?) How many of you are laughing right now???

We do not regret a minute of this decision to experience the USA!!  It is something I always wanted to do, and now I have done it.  We have some amazing memories that will last the rest of our lives.  And, of course, as we have said many times, all the incredible people we have met.

Now it’s time for international travel and to visit the places we did not get to all while staying in VRBOs 😀

This week we spent a day in Sedona!  It is only 1 hour from our home.  On the way, we stopped at Montazuma’s Castle.

Established December 8, 1906, Montezuma Castle is the third National Monument dedicated to preserving Native American culture. This 20-room high-rise apartment, nestled into a towering limestone cliff, tells a story of ingenuity, survival, and ultimately, prosperity in an unforgiving desert landscape.

If you have a National Park Pass, it’s free!!  It’s only ⅓ of a mile’s walk which is so fascinating!!  If you are in the area, this is a must-see!  The history is incredible.  My sister and I visited there in March and I knew I had to bring Jerry.  Check it out!

There’s a wonderful Chinese Restaurant in Sedona, there that my sister and I ate at twice when she came to visit in March.  It is the best Chinese food we have had in years since traveling. So, of course, we had to eat there!!   Jerry hadn’t been to Sedona since 2005.  He was blown away at the incredible growth that has happened there since 2005.  But, let’s be real, Sedona is still incredibly beautiful.  I took him to the Sedona Airport Vista view. Pretty awesome. Since it’s only 1 hour away, we will be going for many hikes there and bringing friends who visit.

This week I have been getting my new business infrastructure together.  Ordering lots of yarn, boxes, labels, etc.  As I said, nothing like starting a cozy hat and blanket business in the spring/summer months.  But, I have been getting some orders and have so enjoyed the creative process.  This is a whole new world for me and I’m loving it.  The picture you see is a blanket I am working on for a friend, Angie, in Missouri.  Ray, Angie’s husband, as you can see is wearing a beanie I made for him.  Angie does all of our Just One More swag.  Our T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.  Check out her business:  https://www.facebook.com/AandKcreationsgifts.  She is very talented.

Talking about business….I want to talk about Titan Media Collective.  (Currently at https://marketingtmc.squarespace.com/ while their domain marketingtmc.com transfers to their new site)

Titan has been taking care of Just One More for over 2 years.  Nick, Mike, and Kelly (my future niece who is marrying my nephew) have been unbelievable in creating the Just One More brand.  From our YouTube channel and social media while we were on the road, to recreating the brand to reflect the new Just One More…Custom Blankets & Hats

There is no way we would have done any of this without them.  Not only did they put up with us from the beginning, (we knew very little about how to promote Just One More, they were so patient) they taught us so much about videoing, taking photos, and about how businesses need people like Titan Media Collective these days!!  I would never have been doing a blog if it weren’t for them!  They help with so many different aspects of the business.

They have a lineup of content creators that they support, from podcasters to gamers, and then they have turned the skills they’ve used to help them grow and applied it to businesses. Now they have their content side and a rapidly growing digital marketing agency that is ready to take on new clients!

If you or someone you know has a small to medium business, please take the time to reach out to Nick! You will not regret having a conversation with him about your business. I know this might sound like a commercial, but trust me, you will not find any company that will help you with all your needs and at a fair and decent rate. Obviously, I love this team and we consider them family (of course, Kelly is our actual family now that she’s marrying our nephew which we are beyond thrilled).

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you want more information or just want to ask me questions about Titan! I have referred them to many of our friends and every one of them have been beyond excited!!

Next week we have friends, Paul and Amy, who we met in Driggs, ID  August of 2021 who visited us in Maine a couple of times coming to visit in their RV!  They are still full-time RVers and we cannot wait to hear all about their winter in Florida.  Tune in next week!!

Just One More….blanket and hat to make someone out there!!!!

Hi, I have been reading your blog when you were traveling. My husband and I have a fifth wheel and plan on traveling throughout the United States. They will be shorter trips, not planning on full time at this time. We have a friend who lives in Prescott Valley and both times we stopped to visit her we went to a restaurant named Gabriella’s . It is in a funny location, kind of an industrial area in Prescott Valley. It is family owned and some of the best Italian food we have ever had. It is not open for lunch and not open every day. The salad and bread are so yummy! So are all the main dishes we have tried. The serving are huge so you can definitely split a meal. The lasagna is excellent! If you like Italian you won’t be disappointed. I enjoy reading all your blogs.
    A fellow traveler,
    Diane and Paul Miner
